Excursion to Newcastle-upon-Tyne






















As you exit the train station (which is impressive in its own right) the castle keep is merely yards away. After a quick bite to eat at a diner-like place and Starbucks (I recommend the Belgian chocolate brownie!), we took a tour of castle keep. It is all that remains of the castle except scattered portions of the courtyard walls.

The castle looks small from the outside, but there is quite a lot to see on the inside (for 50 pence per person for students). The most exciting part, without a doubt, is the view from the roof. That is worth the price alone!
